panel 2: Headcanon says all nations claim that their own cuisine is the best in the world. France is the only one to actually believe it.
Flour soup is actually delicious, despite the name. It consists of roasted flour, onions, butter, cheese and broth.

Have some Israeli hoopoe merchandising: [link]
If you’re more into American patriotism and bald eagles : [link]

The photo isn’t mine: [link] German reactions to sexual relationships between Czechs and Germans ranged from «Have fun in the concentration camp!» to «Well done guys! ». Goebbels was more of a „have fun in the concentration camp» kind of guy.

A cookie for the person who can tell me where the dialogue in the eagle panel comes from (the nationality of the characters is the same btw).

EDIT: Okay apparently it's pretzels in English. Which really hurts my eyes since it's Brezeln in German.

Thanks! :)

But do you have any sources for Bretzels being French? As far as I know they are mainly widespread in Southern Germany (plus Austria and Switzerland) and Alsace. But I really wouldn't count Alsace as French in culinary matters, since it has been German for most of its history (which is a shame since German cuisine's pretty boring imo).

Well, I'm from Québec - the french province in Canada - and since my childhood I say bretzel. Though it might be because of the big german immigration in Canada when we were under british rule - honestly don't ask why, I dunno. Apparently 10% of canadians has some german ancestors, which is a lot considering we are only 35 million :)
But if you go on google translator (I know it's not really awesome) it says that the french for pretzel is bretzel.

SING!!!! Also, I have fallen in love with your OC Israel. (Is that an OC? I haven't finished the manga) Do you have a fic of him and America? Or a strip that mainly focuses on them. Also, I love your portrayal of Switzerland. SING! BIRDS SING!!

Yes and no, my Israel was inspired by this fan character : lihsa.deviantart.com/art/Hetal…
But the personality of mine is a bit different. I haven't finished the manga either so I'm not even sure if there is an official design already.

There are fanfics, but not any written by me or including my character.
And no, not strip dedicated to them but nearly all of my more recent comics deal with them in some way.

Thanks!

The next comic will be about the Thirty Years War, he will definitely appear in that one.

That comic with ihm and Switzerland is on my list of things to draw. But that list is damn long. It might take months or, more likely, years.

Oh great! The Thirty Years War, huh? It's strange Spain was actually dominating the field for a while there before all hell broke lose (with Portugal's and Catalonia's rebellions added to the wars he was already fighting) and he just couldn't anymore. :(

Oh yes? Whoo hooo! Awwww...but at least it's in the works. ;)

Agreed, it fits perfectly. I saw a video about Israelis raising lost baby hoopoes and the birds looked so adorably ugly XD And they were always hissing at everyone.

Thanks. If you're refering to the Nazi movie, I usually stick to Czech-NaziGerman history since it's a less touchy subject. Compared to what the Germans did to other nations I mean. I wouldn't touch NaziGerman-Polish history or NaziGerman-Russian history.

It's so sweet how they all are making a soup :)

Eh? Forbidden -.-
But I never heard about this movie :) Thanks a lot for this :D Tho it is funny, when you think about Joseph Goebbels and how he oh-so-much fell in love with one Czech actress (Lída Baarová) that he even offered his resignation to Hitler...

I love that part with arm. Sometimes this things happens, when the pain is too strong, your brain starts to release hormones that make you don't feel pain and you can solve the situation...I once saw a movie where the man was impaled on iron rod...like through his body (tho it was so lucky,it missed important organs)...and he calmly called himself a doctor, when the ambulance came he just said, "It's good to have you here so soon!"

It's probably not very realistic that they would make soup together though XD

You need to copy-paste the link, it doesn't work if you follow the link directly. No idea why.
I read that Hitler was fascinated with a Czech woman too when he came to Vienna. He wrote that she was the only person he could really talk to or something like that. Confused Nazis....:XD:

Obama likes to brag about a lot of things for whatever reason. As an American it's really annoying to be honest. Sure you've done some good things but he could stand to tone it down a bit especially when it's about things he didn't even do. ^^;

Bretzels had me baffled for a bit. I knew you were talking about pretzels but I thought maybe another English speaking nation called them bretzels instead of pretzels. lol
