for a video of the Schuhplattler: [link] That’s the kind of crazy thing my headcanon Austria does in his leisure time. Germany and Prussia usually deny knowing Bavaria when he starts dancing (Prussia does most of the time, actually).
1st panel: Pope Clement VI. estimated that 23'840'000 people died during the first plague epidemic in 1347, meaning that about a third of Europe's population was killed. Most historians agree that he was about right. Italy was especially unlucky. Most sources don’t mention the black spots Switzerland has, I just wanted to give him a visible sign of the plague. The plague epidemics had many positive effects too, one being the fact that cities and regions which usually hated each other were forced to cooperate and trust each other to combat the disease.
I'll do more of these historical drawings. I already sketched something about the Macartney embassy to China, which was mainly about the British empire being very British. And the time Austria tried to get rid of Belgium so he could marry Bavaria. And Prussia actually approved.
Interestingly Napoleon III of France kept angling for Bismarck to allow him to annex Luxemburg as "payment" for his disinterest in allowing Prussia to unify Germany. Bismarck kept listening to Napoleon's feelers, and collecting them, and in 1870 released them early in the Franco - Prussian War to show third countries not to be too sympathetic with France as to the causes of the war.
It was disturbingly easy picture Austria doing that.....
I'm Jewish, so I found that smack doubly hilarious. XD Best thing ever. X3
